After what seems to me to be an unusually looong time, I finally finished my latest piece. This one seemed to be a bit more of a struggle than usual. Could be I've had too many distractions. I had to purposely carve out time for this painting, do a little here and a little there, think about it then think some more. Here it is, Animal Crackers, 16"X20" acrylic on canvas. Thoughts and comments are welcomed.

I like the texture in your new painting a lot and especially the warmth of the colors.. especially the design of the cookie can.
Perhaps we all need to go to the desert like Marta Becket did. I am thinking that I want to live a life with fewer distractions but that might exclude my blog which is indeed a very large and delightful distraction.
Wishing you a very creative summer and a tantalizing new art project.
PS I was thinking about what Marta said in her documentary about why she was willing to spend years painting the murals on the walls of the opera house before she owned it.
..The experience of... the process and joy of creating. I don't know as I have ever encountered an artist before capable of such Zen detachment.
What beautiful, fresh colors.
Love the still life. Very photo-like.
